The Character Design for Games and Film course will be taught by industry veteran, Ji Hye Lee. With over eight years of experience in the entertainment design industry, Ji Hye has built a wealth of knowledge and expertise in character design. As a senior illustrator at Marvel Studios, she is well-versed in creating visually compelling characters that resonate with audiences. In this course, students will learn how to create compelling characters from start to finish, by going through the process of collecting reference and nailing down a solid, interesting idea for each character. They will learn how to research and use reference effectively to develop well-thought-out characters. They will also learn how to efficiently use the various tools necessary in achieving a high level of detail and narrative storytelling in their character designs. By the end of the class, students will have the skills and knowledge needed to take a character design to a final professional quality state and be ready to work in the entertainment industry.

Instructor: Ji Hye Lee
Ji Hye Lee is a Senior Illustrator with over eight years of experience in the entertainment design industry. Currently working as a senior illustrator at Marvel Studios, she is responsible for creating visually compelling characters and illustrations. Throughout her career, Ji Hye has held various roles, including Senior MP Character Concept Artist at Naughty Dog, Senior Concept Artist at Unbroken Studios, Concept Artist at Gadget-Bot Productions and Chimera Studios, and Painter at Blur Studio and Impulse Gear, Inc.
Ji Hye has a strong background in character design, having worked on creating compelling characters and illustrations for various projects throughout her career. She has experience in game development, specifically on BLACK OPS 3 and 4 by Treyarch.
