Create story-driven scenes through the use of 3D and 2D programs. From wide establishing shots to intimate story moments, students will learn industry techniques to create fantastical imagery regardless of art style preference. Show up ready to learn and begin your steps to create anything and everything simultaneously.
Students will learn and apply lighting techniques, composition, color, and shape design using conventions and techniques within Blender, Photoshop, architecture fundamentals, and world-building.
Course Overview:
Students will learn and develop 3D and 2D workflows for their professional portfolios. A few things you’ll explore and learn are:

Composition - and how it can affect mood, emotion, and story

Shape design - can make or break a style

Photoshop techniques and workflow

Blender workflow for both pre-vis and refinement

Creating high-quality images for your portfolio regardless of industry path

Class Starts Summer 2023 PDT (Pacific Time Zone/California)
Time and Dates: June 16th (Fri) - July 8th (Sat)
Friday 7 - 10 pm PDT (3 hours: Lectures)
Saturday 1 - 4 pm PDT (3 hours: Q&A, Feedback, and Critiques)
Note* This class meets twice a week.
Classes will be hosted on the Zoom platform. Please download it before the 1st day of class.
A mic is recommended for critiques. Webcam encouraged but not required.
Recommended Requirements
Basic understanding of digital painting
Basic understanding of Photoshop tools and navigation
Basic understanding of Blender and or other 3D tools and navigation

Julia Oh is a dynamic force in the entertainment design sphere, having honed her skills as a 2D artist at Titmouse and furthered her expertise through an internship at Digital Domain 3.0. An alumni of the esteemed ArtCenter College of Design, she graduated in 2017 with a specialized focus on Entertainment Design. With a solid foundation in artistic expression and a passion for creative innovation, Julia continues to carve her path in the dynamic realm of visual storytelling and design.
